Dissociative Disorders Skills Group
Our dissociative disorders skills group is a highly-structured skills training group based on the manual Coping With Trauma-Related Dissociation by Boon, Steele, and Van Der Hart. The group meets weekly and runs for approximately 38 sessions. Group size is limited to 8 adults. The cost is $85 per weekly group session. An initial interview ($120) is required before joining the group, and you must be in concurrent individual therapy. A free educational meeting for client's family and friends is held around week 12 of the module to help them learn about complex dissociative disorders and to answer their questions. Appropriate clients for this group have a confirmed diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder or Other Specified Dissociative Disorder and are in the stabilization phase of treatment. Clients must be able to somewhat control switching so as not to disrupt the group and they must not be actively psychotic. This group is an adjunct to and not a replacement for individual treatment. Interested clients may contact us to join the waiting list for the next module of this group or to schedule an intake to join the current group. Request an intake appointment or more information by filling out the contact form below.
We add new group members during the first half of group. We have developed an "on-boarding" protocol to accomplish this and to help new group members to not feel behind on content. We now accept interested clients into our on-boarding process on a rolling basis. Contact us for details and to schedule an appointment.
