Dr. Alyssa Johnson
For the ones who’ve always felt a little too much, too deep, too different — welcome.
Dr. Alyssa
Dr. Alyssa’s Specialties:
I work with BIPOC individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations who are ready to reconnect with themselves and live authentically — not just surviving, but thriving in their truth. Many of my clients have spent years feeling misunderstood or out of place in a society obsessed with boxes and labels. If you’ve been called weird, an old soul, an Oreo, or too much, this is a space where you don’t have to shrink to fit. Here, you can laugh, cry, question, and express yourself freely — because you deserve a safe space where your full self is welcome.
Many of the people I work with are learning to find balance amidst emotional waves, often navigating depression, anxiety, or life transitions. Others are processing experiences related to trauma, neurodivergence, or psychosis in a world that doesn’t always understand difference. My clients are often seeking clarity about who they are — their identity, purpose, and beliefs — while managing the invisible weight of systemic stress, racism, and self-doubt.
In our work together, I use an integrative, client-centered approach that draws from CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic techniques. I also incorporate mindfulness, holistic, and transpersonal perspectives to support healing on every level — mind, body, and spirit. My style is collaborative, grounded, and liberation-focused: equal parts scientist and sage, with just the right bit of humor. Clients often describe me as compassionate, real, and able to make complex concepts accessible.
Even virtually, therapy with me is not just a conversation — it’s an experience of healing and discovery. Sessions may include movement, breathwork, reflection, or creative tools to help reconnect with your body and translate insight into action. My goal is for you to leave each session not only with clarity and deeper self-awareness, but with practical ways to bring that healing into your daily life.
If you’re ready to explore your inner world, reclaim your authenticity, and move through life grounded, empowered, and liberated, let’s begin your healing journey together.
