Being a little weird is a feature, not a bug. Your uniqueness is your superpower.

Mare’s Specialties:
Have you spent your life feeling “too much,” “too different,” or like you never quite fit in? Maybe you’ve been told you’re too loud, too sensitive, too intense, too quirky, or too bold. Therapy can be a space where those parts of you are no longer treated like problems to fix — but strengths to understand and embrace.
I work with people who often feel like outsiders, creatives, deep feelers, neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, and anyone trying to reconnect with who they truly are underneath masking, shame, burnout, or self-doubt. Together, we’ll explore the parts of you that may have been misunderstood and help you build a life that feels more authentic, grounded, and joyful.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, creative, and deeply affirming. Sessions with me are not about becoming someone else — they’re about helping you feel more confident being yourself. We may laugh, cry, swear, process hard things, geek out over shared interests, or follow unexpected tangents that lead to important insights. Curiosity, creativity, special interests, and individuality are always welcome here.
As someone who grew up feeling different, I understand the desire to be accepted for who you are rather than pressured to shrink yourself to fit others’ expectations. My own therapy journey taught me that the qualities that once made me feel marginalized were also sources of resilience, connection, and strength. I believe the same can be true for you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity exploration, relationship challenges, burnout, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can help you reconnect with your own unique strengths.
You do not have to become less yourself to feel worthy, connected, or successful.
Your differences may not be flaws at all. They may be your superpower.

More about My Work
As an avid reader and comic book nerd, I’ve always wanted to be able to fly or have the ability to speak every known language. Superpowers in general fascinated me – they’re something that makes you different, helps you feel in control, and that others often admire in you. My positionality as an outsider in many spaces motivated my wish to be super, to be admired for the things that made me different rather than marginalized and excluded.
Engaging in therapy was a large part of my journey to realizing that the differences, eccentricities, quirks, and identities that make up who I am are my own personal superpower. After some self-exploration, I was able to recognize that being a little weird is a feature, not a bug. And I want to help you find joy with who you are, with all the things that you may have been told make you too different, too loud, too bold.
My therapeutic approach is a lot like me and probably like you: eclectic, creative, colorful, compassionate, and always a work in progress. In our sessions, we’ll laugh, cry, swear, geek out, and grow together. Tangents, special interests, and creative ideas are always welcome. Together we’ll go in search of your wonderful uniqueness, your very own superpower.
